Cause: A potential cause for the above conditions is an improperly installed ignition switch. If the ignition switch is not aligned during installation in one direction the ignition switch will not be completely off position when the key is removed. This may result in accessories such as lights remaining on or the instrument panel illuminated, which may drain the battery. If the ignition switch is not aligned in the opposite direction the ignition may disconnect properly but could cause the crank circuit to be incomplete when the key is turned to the crank position. This would result in a no crank condition. Correction: Remove and reinstall the ignition switch following the manufacture’s installation instructions.
