The technician may observe diagnostic trouble code POAFA stored in the system memory. These conditions only appear after one or more of the following events: – The vehicle’s 12V battery system is extremely low or dead – The Manual Disconnect has been removed. – Replacement of a major component such as the drive unit, drive motor control module or the 300V battery. – After reprogramming several modules at one time or major reprogramming event. Cause: A possible cause for the above condition is that when the 12V battery system drops to a low state of charge or major components are replaced and/or reprogrammed that the system goes into a logic error and locks out the high voltage system to protect itself. Correction: Follow the manufactures recommended diagnostic and repair procedures which include clearing trouble codes in a specific sequence.
