chiwia . & | [| { 8 | anees / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-80101, A-80188, A-80282, S-1430, S-1491 and S-6238 Applications: 2003 — 2004 Cadillac CTS 2004 Cadillac SRX Condition: The vehicle operator may complain of one or more of the following issues: e the vehicle won’t start with out being boosted e the battery drains overnight Cause: A potential cause for this is a flaw in the design of the brightness control lever for the instrument panel and interior lights. If in the maximum brightness position (but without activating the interior lights) the switch may have a low drain through the interior lights. The drain is low enough that the interior lights are not on but is high enough that the dash module wakes up other modules through the data line causing the vehicle to remain active and to drain the battery. Correction: At the time of this bulletin there is no correction from the OE except to inform the customer of the issue and to adjust the dimmer accordingly.
