“dixie LD f TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: S-1409 Applications: 2000 — 2001 Saturn SC, SL and SW vehicles up to VIN 1Z252292 Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain of one or more of the following intermittent conditions: The vehicle cranking but not starting. The rear wiper (on wagons) being inoperative. The rear washer pump being inoperative. The speaker(s) cutting in and out. The service engine soon staying on. The technician may find one or more of the following diagnostic codes stored in the system P0447, P0452, P0462 or P1635. Cause: A potential cause for the above conditions may be that the instrument panel wiring harness could be coming into contact with the left side instrument panel bracket in the left side of the drivers foot area. This could be at the instrument panel to body inline connector as the wiring has been known to chaff in this area. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended trouble shooting and correction procedures to determine which wires are shorting out (check the fuse first… sorry to state the obvious).
