’ divio asavecas / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: S-8738 Applications: 2005 — 2006 Pontiac Vibe 1.8L Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain of hard or extended cranking when the engine is hot. The engine may start and stall, misfire (backfire) and then once started after then engine has cooled off exhibits no problems. Cause: There are two possible conditions that may cause the above conditions: 1) The power train control module calibration file from the factory had a flaw that would cause problems with the engine starting when hot. 2) The power train control module could be faulty. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended diagnostic, calibration and/or replacement procedures, when applicable.
