MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE ERA NATIONAL BOARD OF ADVISORS Sunday, May 23, 2004, on the convention center show floor in Covington, Kentucky In attendance were: AJ Campbell, Tom Reusser, Robert Diamond, Richard Vensel, Robert Wagner, Dennis Jacinto, Jeff Phillips, Ronnie Charnes, Bill Meyer, Chris Thompson, Kenny Turner, Alan Melton, Larry Hagemeister, Dan Smith, Henry Henke, Fraser Cox, Wes Grueninger, Joe Davis, Ron Carlson, Mike Dietrich, Tom Burns, Mike Schroeder, Polly Shea and Bob Thomas. The meeting began at 8:05 am. The following new members and appointees were introduced. Jeff Phillips of Ace has joined the Advisory Board. Bill Meyer is the new Membership Director and Advisory Board member. Wes Grueninger, is the new Website Director. Dennis Jacinto is the Publications Director. Bill Meyer gave a report on the membership, and noted that 15 new rebuilders had joined at the show on Saturday. He also requested that an exception be made for a disabled and semi-retired rebuilder, who could not afford to join the association, but enjoyed reading the forum emails on the website. After the board voted to make an exception, Robert Diamond said that SWS would pay the rebuilder’s dues. Chris Thompson then gave a short financial report. He also brought copies of a list of all back transactions, for anyone who wanted one. Dick Vensel talked briefly about the “Terms & Definitions” book, which was being shown in prototype form and sold at a special show price of $15. He said that once the first book went to the printer, his committee would begin work on the second book, “The Fine Art of Electrical Rebuilding”. The nominating committee then presented their recommendations for all offices that were to be filled in 2004: Alan Melton as Executive Vice-President; Chris Thompson as Treasurer; Dan Smith as North East VP; Larry Hagemeister as North West VP; and Mike Dietrich as South West VP. The nominees were voted into office by acclamation. Polly then reported that 325 rebuilders had attended as of Saturday afternoon, with a few more expected to show up Sunday. She also confirmed that the date for the 2005 show would be May 20-22 and the location would be the convention center in King of Prussia, PA. It was decided the planning meeting for that show should be held in late summer or early fall, at the show site. Polly also announced that Ron Carlson would be stepping down from the advisory board to spend more time with his business. Two show problems were brought up and discussed briefly. They were suppliers who were walking the show floor with rebuilder badges and the long line at the registration desk. The meeting concluded at 8:50 and a group picture was taken.
