ELECTRICAL REBUILDER’S ASSOCIATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING Wednesday, May 4, 2005 The meeting began at 7:35 pm via conference call. Mike Schroeder, Alan Melton, Polly Shea, Larry Hagemeister, Chris Thompson, and Bob Thomas were in attendance. Joe Davis joined the meeting toward the end to discuss printing options for the seminar handouts. Polly provided up to date information on show registrations. She said 125 rebuilders have pre-registered to date. There will be 50 exhibitors taking 78 booths. 63 people have signed up for the Tech Ed seminars Thursday & Friday. She also said the host hotel is sold out, and a backup hotel in Absecon is now available. It is a half-mile further away, but the shuttle will be stopping at both hotels. Polly said she was unable to get Snap-On to do the business seminar scheduled for Saturday morning. She asked Larry if he would do the same business seminar he did last year in place of Snap-On, and he agreed. Larry is now scheduled to give two seminars. Also discussed were options for the 2006 show. Polly said she considered three facilities in Charlotte. She said that none were available the chosen weekend of April 1°; the downtown convention center has several convenient hotels, but they would be very expensive. All agreed that the second choice would be the following weekend of April 8″. A final decision should be made prior to or at the Atlantic City show. Polly asked that information on the changes in officers and the advisory board, and other ERA show news be provided to Traci as soon as possible. Bob agreed to put it all together and email it to her. Discussion moved to the final details for the ERA booth. Everything has been taken care of except the new banners. Joe Davis joined the meeting to discuss the handout for the new seminars. He said he hopes to find enough sponsors to have the book funded by the fall seminars. The ERA will pay for the handouts for the first two events, including Dallas and Atlantic City. The cost should be around $5 per book. The binders for the entire year (500) were purchased by the ERA at a cost of $1.79 each. The meeting concluded at 9:40 pm. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 11.
