ELECTRICAL REBUILDER’S ASSOCIATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING Wednesday, July 6, 2005 The meeting began at 7:40 pm via conference call. Chris Thompson, Dan Smith, Hank Henke, Scott Fureman, Jody Nava, Mike Schroeder and Bob Thomas were in attendance. The first item on the agenda was the 2006 show. Dan reported that Polly would be sending out an email concerning the planning meeting on Friday afternoon. He also said Polly asked for an association representative to help her procure more technical articles for her newspaper. It was agreed that a volunteer for the job should be sought. Dan also said Polly had called the APRA office to see if they would be interested in holding an electrical clinic in Charlotte on Sunday, March 26″, following a one-day ERA show on Saturday, March 25″. This idea had been suggested by several advisory board members, and Polly felt this could be a way to bring the show back to a one-day event. She had not heard back from them as of the meeting. Mike Schroeder said he had been contacted by current APRA Chairman Michael Droullard and First Vice-Chairman Mike Hill about having a dinner meeting to discuss the possibility of the two associations working together toward some common goals. Mike assured everyone he would not commit to anything without consulting the advisory board. Their meeting is scheduled for July 26″. Jody and Scott talked about their project to revise and update the association’s bylaws. Jody noted that the first section was finished and posted on the ERA Board Forum on the website. Any advisory board member who has not visited the board forum is encouraged to do so. Jody and Scott agreed that they should be able to finish the revision process within the next six weeks. The subject of creating a Canadian Region and a Canadian Regional VP was also discussed. All agreed this was a good idea, and should be incorporated into the revised bylaws. The remaining 2005 seminars were discussed. Bob noted that the deadline for the August paper was less than a week away and information for the Minneapolis and Sacramento seminars should be included if possible. Chris said he would call Tom White at ASAP who is hosting the Minneapolis event and Bob said he would call Dennis Jacinto about Sacramento. It was also noted the other 4 seminars would follow quickly in November and December. Jody said she was already working with WRS Orlando manager Rick King on the Orlando events. Mike said he would talk to Tom Lubrano about the Memphis and New Orleans events. Scott Furman said he had talked to Joe Davis about planning the schedule for 2006, and hoped to have it complete before Joe hits the road again September.
