In Memory of… John A. Kuechly John A. Kuechly, founder of J & N Auto Electric, Cincinnati, Ohio, went to meet his Savior on June 22, 2004. He was 72. Kuechly founded J & N in 1954 and had retired a few years ago as his sons, Tom and Nick, took over company operations. He enjoyed family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. Kuechly, 1931-2004 Morris Koltunovsky Atlantic Generator Service, Inc. is saddened to announce that founder Morris Koltunovsky passed away on June 18, 2004 at the age of 90. His vision, innovation and hard work made him a pioneer in the industry. He started as an unpaid apprentice in Lebanon and evolved into the largest heavy-duty aftermarket manufacturer of armatures in the United States. Koltunovsky’s contribution to the industry is boundless. He was the first to mass manu- facture new heavy-duty replacement armatures. He invented machinery to mass produce hair pin coils along with twisting, tooling and winding machines, now considered standard in the industry. Koltunovsky never profited by patenting his inventions. The great pride he took in knowing he contributed to the growth of the industry was enough. i i He said he would never retire and he never did.
