In some cases the technician may find the fuel pump fuse in the open condition. Cause: A potential cause for the above condition is an intermittent short circuit to ground in the fuel pump wiring or a fault in the fuel pump assembly. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended diagnostic and repair procedures with special attention to the fuel pump wiring beneath the rear seat. If no grounds are found inspect the fuel pump, in September 2009 the fuel pump was revised. Prior to that the bushings were manufactured slightly tighter and could result in higher current draw.
