“dixie verse gy TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: TBA Applications: 2010 Hummer H3 2010 Hummer H3T Condition: The manufacture has identified a potential problem with the wire routing from the alternator to the battery. Cause: The wire may chaff against the engine sight shield cover which could cause the insulation to fail over time. Correction: Inspect the alternator positive battery cable near the rear of the alternator where it comes out from under the cover. If the cable shows signs of chaffing it must be replaced (GM part number 19116853) and rerouted following the manufacturer’s recommended procedures. If the insulation is not damaged, follow the manufacturer’s recommended procedures for rerouting the cable slightly by: – loosening the cable from the alternator – repositioning it to the 5:00 position when viewed from the pulley end of the alternator – retightening the cable – reinstalling the sight shield cover REV: 20110805 Courtesy of APRA TSB_1015.docx Dixie Tech Tips are intended for use by professional technicians, and are not for the general public.
