1ode ) TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: TBA Applications: 2010 — 2011 Buick Lucerene V8 2010 — 2011 Cadillac DTS V8 Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain of one or more of the following conditions: – Erratic electrical problems. – A power steering system failure. – An engine compartment fire. Cause: A potential cause for the above conditions is the routing of the alternator and/or starter battery cables. During manufacturing either of the battery cables may have been routed in contact with the power steering return line. Over time the cable or power steering line may be damaged from chafing. Correction: Follow the manufacturers recommended diagnostic and repair procedures and replace worn parts and reroute the battery cables to avoid future chafing issues.
