The technician will observe no diagnostic trouble codes, but when performing a parasitic (quiescent) drain test will observe a 70mA or greater draw. Cause: A potential cause for the above conditions is a flaw in the HVAC control module that prevents the module from going into the sleep mode. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended diagnostic and repair procedures which include reprogramming the module with the updated calibration file.
