“dixie LD f TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: S-1441, S-1462 and S-1449 Applications: 2002 Chevrolet Trail Blazer 2002 GMC Envoy 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada Built Prior to VIN 22238123 Condition: The vehicle may exhibit one ore more of the following conditions: e Fails to start e One or more of the electrical devices are inoperative (turn/hazard signals, interior lamps, driver information centre, radio, theft alarm, wipers, cruise, shift interlock, horn and/or key in signal). Cause: A pinched, chaffed or cut wire in the steering column harness where the knee bolster bracket may have interfered with the wiring may cause this problem. Correction: e Remove the screws that hold the left insulator panel to the instrument panel (2). e Position the insulator panel in a downward position to allow for the removal of the knee bolster. e Remove the knee bolster panel screws (4). e Release the clips that hold the trim panel to the instrument panel. e Inspect the wiring harness in the lower left-hand area of the knee bolster, looking for any damaged, cut or chaffed wires. e Repair any damaged wires per the manufacturer’s recommended procedures. e Install anti-abrasion sleeve around the harness in the contact area, use tie down straps to firmly secure the sleeve in place. e Reassemble the panels in the reverse order of above.
