Cause: There are a few potential causes for this Correction: 1) Check the PCM for diagnostic trouble codes. 2) Perform standard electrical diagnostics, check the battery charge condition, the wire connections (at the battery terminals and at the battery junction box, PCM connections, relay connections and the connections on the starter) 3) If there are dashes, “-“, in the odometer, it indicates a communication failure between the PCM and instrument cluster, follow the manufacturers’ recommended diagnostic procedure to trouble-shoot the wiring. 4) Clear PCM of diagnostic trouble codes. 5) If the problem persists, check the PCM to see if there are any anti-theft system related diagnostic codes in the memory.
