chiwia . & | [| { 8 | anees / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: Not Assigned Applications: 2009 Ford Escape 2.5L or 3.0L engines equipped with a 6F35 transmission built before 10/06/2008. 2009 Mercury Mariner 2.5L or 3.0L equipped with a 6F35 transmission built before 10/06/2008. Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain that the engine fails to crank or turn over. The technician may observe the following diagnostic trouble codes stored in the system P0706, P0707, P1702. Cause: A potential cause for the above problem is the output shaft speed sensor or the transmission range sensor wires shorting to ground or to each other. There is a pinch point in the wiring harness between the transmission housing and the main control unit in addition there is a shared ground point that my intermittently loose contact. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended repair procedures to inspect the output shaft speed sensor, transmission range sensor, the wiring and grounding for each sensor.
