“dixie verse gy TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-6369 S-6155 Applications: 1999 BMW 540I, 1999 BMW 540IT 1999 BMW 740IA 1999 BMW 740IL Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain of one or more of the following conditions: – Complete electrical system failure – Smoke, fire – Burnt battery cables Cause: A potential cause is improperly manufactured battery cables. The diameter of the wire was less then specified and the retaining clips may not apply sufficient force on the wires to prevent them from chaffing and shorting to each other or other engine components. Correction: The manufacture recommends inspecting the battery cables and applying tape at the retainer locations or replacing the wires if damaged. Follow the manufacturers recommended repair procedures.
