Cause: A potential cause for the above condition is the vehicle Digital Engine Electronics software (DME in BMW terminology). Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended diagnostic and repair procedures when applicable. The updated software is revision dated September 2010 or later (ISTA/P 2.39).
