When checking the vehicle the technician may find the following diagnostic trouble codes stored in the system: – P0087 Fuel/rail system pressure too low. – P0088 Fuel/rail system pressure to high. – P310B Low fuel pressure regulation, fuel pressure outside of tolerance. Cause: A potential cause for the above condition is an incorrectly installed or malfunctioning pressure relief valve. Under normal operating parameters the fuel/rail pressure may reach 140 bar (2030 PSI), however with a damaged or incorrectly installed relief valve the pressure can increase this value (or be too low for the system) and prevents the starting authorization. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s diagnostic and repair procedures if applicable.
