“dixie verse gy TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-6407 A-6556 A-6571 A-9361 A-9505 Applications: 2007 — 2008 BMW 1 Series, N54 engine (E83, E88 up to 4/08) 2006 — 2008 BMW 3 Series, N54 engine (E90, E92, E93 excluding Xi models up to 4/08) Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain that the serpentine belt has broken for no apparent reason. Cause: A potential cause for the above condition is that under hard driving conditions the engine may rock or move on its shock absorbing mounts enough for the belt and/or steering pump pulley to contact the front engine carrier. Hard driving conditions include driving at a high speeds, going over curbs and going quickly over speed bumps. Correction: Inspect the power steering pump pulley and the front axel carrier for damage and wear. Follow the manufacturer’s diagnostic and repair procedures if applicable.
