chiwia . & | [| { 8 | anees / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-8937 Applications: 2001 — 2003 Hyundai Elantra 2.0L 2001 — 2003 Hyundai Tiburon 2.0L Condition: One or more of the following conditions may be observed after replacing the alternator in the vehicle: – the alternator may not charge, – may quite charging, – the light remains on and/or – the main battery fuse is blown. Cause: The factory-equipped vehicle was manufactured with an 80A alternator and a 100A main battery fuse. This was found to be insufficient and the alternator was upgraded to an A-8937, which is a 90A alternator and the battery fuse was replaced with a 120A capacity one. Correction: When changing the alternator verify that the fuse has the correct amperage rating. The part number for the correct 120A fuse is 18980-00060.
