chiwia . & | [| { 8 | axees / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: S-80025 and S-80026 Applications: 2002 — 2003 Nissan Maxima Condition: The vehicle operator that under the following conditions the vehicle will not crank: 1) the outside temperature is below —17C (OF) and 2) the vehicle was started for a short period (5-15 minutes) and 3) the engine was turned of for a short period (5-15 minutes). The below only applies if all of the above criteria were met. Cause: A potential cause for the above are faulty/sticking relays. There is an OE Service Bulletin showing that when the above situation occurs the Park/Neutral Relay (automatic transmission) — Clutch Interlock Relay (manual transmission) and the Throttle Control Motor Relay are faulty. Correction: The vehicle manufacture suggests changing the 2 relays to correct the problem. The part number has not been revised so at this time there is no way to check if a vehicle has had this work performed already (if the owner does not recall). The part number for the relays is 25230-79917 and 2 pieces will be required. When facing the engine from the front they are the 2 relays (in the series of 3) closest to the battery and on the right side.
