chiwia . & | [| { 8 | anees / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-842 A-8117 S-8042A Applications: 1980 — 1982 Honda Accord Condition: The operator of the vehicle may observe one or more of the following conditions: – long, laboured cranking times – aconstant low battery conditions The technician may observe that the plastic 6 connector wiring harness connector is deformed. Cause: A potential cause for the above condition is the factory installed wiring that connects the alternator to the battery was undersized for the load, resulting in excessive heat generation and deformation of the terminals. Correction: The manufacturer issued the following parts to correct the problem: Wire harness repair kit (06389-SA6-305) – Six cavity connector (07692-0011200) – Terminal #9 — male (0792-0010900) – Terminal #10 — female (07692-00111000) Follow the manufacturer’s recommended procedures when installing the above parts.
