Cause: A potential cause for the above conditions is a damaged wiring harness. The vehicle was manufactured with a wire tie for the harness that was attached to the wire instead of the diode. Constant vibration may have damaged the ignition portion of the Y connection, and results in a failure to charge at alternator speeds of less the 3500 RPM.
