ELECTRICAL REBUILDER’S ASSOCIATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING Tuesday, February 24, 2004 The meeting began shortly after 7 pm Eastern time, via conference call. All five members of the Board of Trustees were present: Mike Schroeder, Alan Melton, Polly Shea, Chris Thompson & Bob Thomas. First topic discussed was finding candidates for the offices that need to be filled at the annual show meeting in May. Based on the suggestions that have been made by the advisory board, it was decided the Larry Hagemeister would be asked to serve as the NW Regional VP, Mike Dietrich would be asked to serve as SW Regional VP, and Wes Grueninger would be asked to join the Advisory Board (from the alternate list). Larry and Mike will be provided with a list of the duties of the Regional VP. Alan said he would contact Larry Hagemeister; Bob Thomas said he would contact Mike Dietrich, and Polly agreed to contact Wes Grueninger. Bob reported that to date only two firm website proposals have been received; one of the companies decided not to bid, and one company is known to be still working on a bid. Three more companies have asked for information on the project and we could also receive a bid from one or more of those. Plans are to re-contact all who have not yet submitted a bid, and present them with a firm deadline to do so. That deadline will be no later than the next trustee meeting in two weeks. Polly reported that the new logo will be ready by the end of the month. She also reported that the show packets were mailed to all possible vendors on February 23. Chris suggested that we make a better effort to get J&N more involved in promoting this show. Polly said she would call them to see if they can be gotten more involved. Mike reported that a few minor problems may slightly delay the opening of the association office in Union, MO by the target date of March 1*. Bob has also had problems transferring the database program to the new computer, but that project is now complete, so the computer and files should arrive on March 1“ or 2″. Plans are to get the office operational and running smoothly during March, and to announce the office and publicize the new contact information in the April newspaper. The book project currently being worked on by the training committee was discussed. Although the first book is not ready for printing, Polly asked to be included when it came time do the type setting. Quantities were discussed and the consensus was that the first printing should be at least 250 and no more than 500 copies. Further discussion of this project was tabled until the book is closer to being ready for printing. Dick Vensel has been putting many long hours into this project. The problem of paying for office supplies and making small purchases was discussed and it was decided that a low limit company credit card should be obtained for this purpose. Chris agreed to apply for the card, to be used for purchasing postage and administrative
