ELECTRICAL REBUILDER’S ASSOCIATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING Wednesday, June 8, 2005 The meeting began at 7:40 pm via conference call. Dan Smith, Mike Schroeder, Alan Melton, Chris Thompson, Jody Nava and Bob Thomas were in attendance. Jody joined the meeting to represent the south-east region and share her ideas on better organizing the association. Alan reported on a phone conversation he had that afternoon with Polly Shea in regard to the 2006 show. He said Polly was still working on nailing down the facility and exact date of the Charlotte show. Bob suggested the Charlotte Motor Speedway as a possible venue. He noted the speedway has facilities that are rented out for small trade shows, and Dan agreed to contact Polly and give her the contact information, which was provided by WRS Charlotte manager Pat McCutcheon. Although a 15-20 minute drive from the airport, the speedway could offer a unique venue that would attract rebuilders. Tours of NASCAR race shops would be easy to arrange as several are in close proximity to the speedway. Jody then presented her plan to form a bylaws committee, for the purpose of reviewing the bylaws and making suggested changes that would get more officers involved in decision making. She said she felt that too few people were making all the decisions, and that the same people were also doing the majority of the work. She said one goal is to get the committees more involved in getting the work done. Everyone present agreed with the idea. She promised to send out a draft copy of amended bylaws before the weekend. All agreed the new bylaw draft should be sent to the entire advisory board. Bob suggested that a second regional VPs could be invited to each meeting, as a way of getting the Board of Directors more involved. All agreed with the idea on a trial basis. The meeting concluded at 9:05 pm. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15″.
