LEXIE } TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: TBA Applications: 2008 — 2011 Mack GU Series Truck Conditions: The operator of the vehicle may observe various electrical functions operating erratically up to and including an engine compartment fire. Cause: A potential cause for the above conditions is a fault in routing of the battery pack wiring harness and clips used. The battery cables may contact frame hardware, and over time the chafing may destroy the insulation resulting in a faulty continuity to ground. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended repair procedure, which includes replacing the leads if damaged and rerouting them to prevent chafing.
