The technician may observe that the battery is weak or low. Cause: A potential cause for the above is excessive current draw with the ignition off. This could be caused by the radio not powering down correctly and keeping the communications system in the vehicle operating resulting in quiescent/parasitic drain. Correction: To verify that the above condition is the problem, the vehicle must have all windows and doors closed. Turn the off the ignition and wait 30 to 40 seconds. Then observe the radio back light for flickering. If the backlight flickers (approximately every 20 seconds) then the radio will require replacement, which may be eligible for dealer warranty coverage.
