chiwia . & | [| { 8 | anees / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: S-2100 and S-2102 Applications: 2000 — 2001 Lincoln LS Condition: Some vehicle operators may complain of one or more of the following conditions: e Cranks with out starting or starter motor requires multiple replacements. e The theft warning lamp flashes quickly e The vehicle will start normally after turning the key off and on again. When checking the vehicle one or more of the following conditions may be observed: e Code U1147 and or U1262 may be stored in the instrument cluster module. e There may be no spark and/or injector pulses. e There is no communication with the Powertrain Control Module. Cause: A possible cause for this is a flaw in the wiring harness causing voltage to be present at points in the system when there should be none. Correction: The manufacturer has a jumper wiring harness that is to be installed in the lower portion of the instrument cluster (part number 1W4Z-13A612-AA). Follow the manufacturer’s recommended diagnostic and repair procedures.
