There may have been multiple alternator or starters burning out on the vehicle. Cause: A possible cause for this condition is excessive quiescent draw (parasitic drain). Correction: Test for quiescent drain, take care when performing the test as there is a “stand-by” mode when the key is removed where the draw should be 450 mA or less. The “stand-by” mode lasts up to 30 minutes at which point the system powers down. In the powered down or sleep mode the quiescent draw should be 30mA or less. If the drain exceeds these limits look for after-market installed electronic components, if present disconnect them and perform the test again. Then diagnose for the source of the drain following the manufactures’ recommended procedures.
