mxIe ) TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-274 and A-275 Applications: 2004 — 2006 Ford E-150, E-250, E-350 and E-450 with 5.4L or 6.8L engines and a single alternator (no dual alternator applications). Condition: Some vehicle operators may complain of the battery discharging when the vehicle is operated at idle with aftermarket accessories turned on. Cause: A possible cause for this is that the original alternator supplied from the factory provided only sufficient output to match the factory installed options. Correction: The vehicle manufacturer recommends that the higher amperage alternator be used in cases were the above conditions exist. This means upgrading the Dixie remanufactured A-274 (95A) with a Dixie remanufactured A-275 (130A).
