chiwia . & | [| { 8 | anees / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: S-2057 S-2058 Applications: 1990 — 1991 Ford Explorer 4.0L 1990 — 1991 Ford Ranger 4.0L Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain of one or more of the following conditions: e Rough idle e Poor starting e Failure to start Cause: A possible cause for the above conditions is a faulty ground at the electronic distributorless ignition system (EDIS). Correction: If the above conditions are observed, wiggle the EDIS module’s connector, which is found on the right radiator support to see if the condition changes. If the condition changes, examine the ground circuit wire and terminal. The wire will be black/light green for 1990 or black/white for 1991. If the terminal does not have a brass sleeve install the upgrade terminal (part number F1TZ14461-A) to provide the module with a proper, secure ground. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended procedures when installing the terminal.
