The alternator mounting foot for the may not be the same as the one being removed from the vehicle. One of the alternators may have the rear mounting foot threaded and one may not have the threads, as shown in the picture below. O/C 7 Threaded Rear Mounting Foot Unthreaded Rear Mounting Foot Cause: The manufacturer has used the same part number for both threaded and unthreaded mounting feet on this application. Correction: Dixie has assigned 2 part numbers to the same OE numbers so that the direct replacement alternator can be ordered and installed with no additional hardware required.
