Cause: A possible cause for the above conditions is a faulty EGR valve. Correction: Using a diagnostic scan tool check for diagnostic trouble codes. If code P0300 (multiple cylinders misfiring) is present and others codes correct all other problems first then follow the manufacturer’s recommended procedures for diagnosing the EGR valve.
