ERA Tech Seminar Visits Boston By Dan Smith The Electrical Rebuilders Association (ERA) Technical Education Series pre- sented by Joe Davis stopped by Boston Auto Electric on Sept 9 and 10 and was met with 26 attendees on Friday night and 41 for the Saturday session. Davis once again put on a great show full of valuable information and rebuild- ing tips. The content of the Friday night program was well received by most with many positive comments from rebuilders who walked away with a much better understanding of how alternators, gener- ators and starters work. The new unit information and rebuilding tips from the Saturday morn- ing session will more than pay for the cost of attendance in future time and money savings. Hands-on demonstra- tions of new parts and rebuilding processes gave the audience an opportu- nity to see and identify the units they will be rebuilding in the near future. Alan Melton was our featured guest speaker on Saturday afternoon. Topics ranged from new, fast slew rate regula- tors to “outside the box” ways to improve business in a rebuilding shop. Many rebuilders shared their tips and problem unit fixes. The ERA wishes to offer its thanks to Boston Auto Electric for hosting the seminar and providing a great lunch.
