ELECTRICAL REBUILDER’S ASSOCIATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING Monday, November 29, 2004 The meeting began at 7:08 pm via conference call. Alan Melton, Chris Thompson, Mike Schroeder & Bob Thomas were in attendance. The regular meeting date had been changed & Polly Shea was unable to attend because of a previous commitment. The first item discussed was the 2005 seminars. After considering all suggested names, it was decided to call the program the “ERA Technical Education Series”. Friday evening’s class will be called “How Generators, Starters & Alternators Really Work”. The Saturday morning session will be called “Information on the Latest Charging & Starting Systems”. While the Saturday afternoon class will be called “Solving Rebuilding Problems”. Bob said he would put the material together for the January paper, including a brief description of each class and the schedule for the entire year. Dennis Jacinto has volunteered to “adopt” the Sacramento seminar and Tom White of ASAP is interested in adopting the Minneapolis event. Mike has talked to Rodney Pierce of Mark’s One about adopting the Phoenix seminar. The seminar schedule is attached and possible hosts are shown for most of the events. Anyone who can confirm or locate a supplier member willing to adopt a seminar would be appreciated. A brochure will be printed to publicize the new seminars and we would like to list event hosts on the schedule. Mike said he would begin working on the technical education brochure, with a target of February | for completion. This would enable distribution to begin two months prior to the first seminar. Mike also gave the following update on the membership drive: SC — 2, SE—6, SW — 6, NW — 6, NC — 10, NE- 11, CAN — 2, a total 43 new members since September 1″ At the same time Mike pointed out that a high number of member’s with anniversary dates in September, October & November have not renewed. It was decided to have Darlene call each one. Bob said it was important to keep a record of the reasons given for not renewing membership. Mike said some were supplier members involved in the recent mergers. Next item discussed was the prize drawing at the upcoming show. Bob said the convention center did not have equipment on site for drawing numbers lotto style. He also said that local rental companies had not come up with anything either. He suggested building a machine from Plexiglas and using a blower motor to circulated colored and numbered ping pong balls. Everyone agreed this might be the best course and Bob agreed to draw plans and locate supplies. Final item discussed was the suggestion that ERA business meeting minutes be made available to members on the website. Bob said that Wes could set up an archive of
