ELECTRICAL REBUILDER’S ASSOCIATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING Tuesday, March 15, 2005 The meeting began at 7:40 pm via conference call. Mike Schroeder, Alan Melton, Chris Thompson, & Bob Thomas were in attendance. Polly Shea did not attend. Scott Fureman attended the first part of the meeting, to express his desire to serve the association in a greater capacity and ask questions about the nominating procedure. The nomination of officers and advisory board positions was also discussed. Alan and Chris both stated that most of the board members they spoke to expressed a desire to continue. However, there are some advisory board members who have been difficult to contact. It was decided that advisory board members should be willing and able to give at least one hour per month to help with association business. The second item of discussion was the show, and the formation of a booth committee. The committee’s job will be to man the booth during the hours the show floor is open and help decide the signage, give-a-ways, and booth layout. Darlene will be working in the booth Saturday & Sunday. A new computer will be given away to an ERA member who attends the show. The registration and drawing for the computer will be done in the ERA booth, with the drawing planned for Sunday around noon. The winner will not need to be present to win. All other prize drawings at the show will be handled by the ERE on Saturday afternoon. The seminars were discussed next. Mike reported that the seminar brochures have been printed and each advisory board member should receive three copies, mailed March 11″. Copies of the brochure are already in the hands of EMS and WRS Dallas for distribution and promotion of the first two events. It was decided to distribute several thousand copies in the area around Atlantic City. Any advisory board member who can help get this accomplished should contact the office. Feedback on the brochure is also sought. Please email Mike directly, or send comments to Darlene at the office email address. Mike noted that less than 40 copies of the Rebuilder’s Desk Reference are left, and it was decided to order 100 more copies before the show. The 40 will be sold at the first two seminars prior to the show. The second printing will include a heavier cover. Dick Vensel is working hard on the second ERA technical reference book, with hopes of having it ready for the show. This will be a charging and starting systems reference book, suitable for parts sales personnel and automotive technicians. Many rebuilders may also find this book useful. Bob reported that the “eren.net” domain was purchased within the last few weeks by the association and has been linked to the ERA website. Anyone who types in the old EREN web address will be taken directly to the new site. Wes is working on the website daily, with the goal of having a new section ready before the show. He forwarded the following website stats for the 24-hour period ending shortly after midnight, March 16:
