ELECTRICAL REBUILDER’S ASSOCIATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING Wednesday, August 17, 2005 The meeting began at 7:40 pm via conference call. Mike Schroeder, Chris Thompson, Scott Fureman, Hank Henke, Dan Smith, Alan Melton, and Bob Thomas were in attendance. The first item discussed was the upcoming National Board of Advisors meeting in Charlotte. The agenda order was modified and additional topics were added. It was noted that many of the items on the agenda would not require more than a few minutes. The revision of the bylaws was also discussed. Mike noted he has been working long hours at his shop and had not had enough time to study and make comment on the bylaws on the Forums. He also said that this was probably the case for others. All agreed the revision is needed, but greater participation should be sought before a yes/no vote. For that reason, it was agreed that the bylaws would be discussed but not voted on. Bob noted that Boston, Grand Rapids, Minneapolis and Sacramento were all planned in detail, while Orlando, the final seminar, was near completion. He said Phoenix, still without a host, and since talking to Bob Hawes, had heard nothing about the two WRS hosted seminars in Memphis and New Orleans. However, he noted the two seminars are listed on the WAI web site. Alan said he would contact ERA member Tucson Alternator, who have a warehouse in Phoenix, to seek their help. The fall membership drive was discussed, and Hank said he believed person to person contact was still the best method for increasing membership. He said several suppliers told him they would proved a list of non-member rebuilders if the association would first provide a list of members. He suggested the lists could then be used by regional VP’s to contact non-members to talk about the value of membership. Bob said he would sort a spreadsheet of rebuilder members by region and get it to Hank and Scott.
