ELECTRICAL REBUILDER’S ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING Wednesday, December 7, 2005 The meeting began at 7:40 pm via a conference call. Mike Schroeder, Jody Nava, Alan Melton, Joe Davis, Scott Fureman, Dan Smith, Chris Thompson, and Bob Thomas were in attendance. The first item discussed was the 2006 seminar schedule. Regitar had originally committed to host a seminar in Montgomery, but then backed out. Bob suggested offering it to Cargo and moving it to Atlanta. After some discussion it was agreed to ask Cargo if they would host in Atlanta. The Miami seminar was the next topic. Rand had been asked and Peter Bain said that contractual agreements prevented them from hosting. AES had also been asked. They seemed interested, but were hesitant to commit. REXCO was suggested as they are in the process of setting up warehouse in Ft Lauderdale. Dan agreed to call Nick Staub. Revised 2006 Seminar Schedule & Hosts Feb 24-26 Niagara Falls, ON A.E.R.A.C. Battery Nov 17-18 Atlanta, GA HC Cargo Dec 8-9 Ft Lauderdale, FL REXCO Bob reported that the Spanish translation in Orlando had not been a success. First, nobody showed up needing translation. A bi-lingual Transpo test engineer who was attending the seminar volunteered to listen to the translation for test purposes. As it turned out, the translator was unable to keep up due to the technical terms. This was in spite of having seminar tapes to prepare. The test volunteer suggested that the seminar be printed in Spanish in the book. Even the translator agreed this would be the best approach. After much discussion, everyone agreed this would be the best course. Once the project is complete, the Spanish text books can be available at all seminars. Next topic was the APRA Electrical Clinic in Vancouver. The APRA had asked if Joe could do an abbreviated on-day ERA seminar as part of their weekend clinic. The APRA would essentially be the host for this seminar. Joe said he could do the first two classes back to back with a lunch break in between. Everyone agreed to add this date to the seminar schedule.
