ELECTRICAL REBUILDER’S ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING Wednesday, January 25, 2006 The meeting began at 7:40 pm EST via a conference call. Alan Melton, Dan Smith, Mike Dietrich, Dick Vensel and Bob Thomas were in attendance. Mike Schroeder and Chris Thompson were unable to make the meeting due to last minute complications. The first item of business discussed was the show booth committee. Bob suggested that the six regional vice presidents be named as the booth committee, since most had already volunteered. Bob suggested this responsibility could be written into the bylaws under the regional VP job description and would eliminate the need to form a booth committee each year. All agreed this was worth discussing with all the regional VPs. Next item to be discussed was a request from Jeff Reynolds, AERAC president, who has asked if the AERAC could buy access to the ERA website for their members. The subject was discussed, however no decision was made, in part because the president and treasurer were not in attendance. This item will be discussed further at the next meeting and a decision should be made at that time. Any member with an opinion should let it be known to someone on the board of directors. The nominating committee was discussed briefly. Alan said he would contact all Board of Advisors members before the next meeting to determine which positions will be open and who might be willing to serve. Dan suggested two rebuilders in his region who might be interested in serving as NE regional VP. The last item to be discussed was the bylaws. Bob made a suggestion that the wording of the following section of the bylaws be changed in the revision: ‘All members shall have their headquarters or residence located in North America.” Bob pointed out that using the word “residence” could open the door to a representative of a non-North American business who might be living in the US. He suggested the wording be changed to: “All members shall have an established commercial business location in North America.” Dick Vensel reported that the second ERA book is in the hands of Dennis Jacinto for type-setting and a final edit. He said it should be printed in time for the show. He also talked briefly about the DVD he is working on with Wes Grueninger. The DVD will include instruction on all types of soldering, and will be shown in the Vensel booth at the show. Copies will be available for sale in the ERA booth. The meeting concluded at 9:40 pm. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 1. The regional VPs scheduled for that meeting are Hank Henke, Jody Nava, & Scott Fureman. Respectfully Submitted, Bob Thomas, secretary
