Subject: ERA-APRA Co-operation Hi Mike, I received an email from Wes concerning ERA-APRA mutual co-operation. The APRA has asked him to come up with ideas. He proposed to me that the two of us work together on a tech article every few months that would be shared and used by both associations. He did not want to present the idea to the APRA if I was unwilling. This is an attractive offer from my perspective. While I always did most of the actual writing when we worked togther, it was very beneficial for me to have someone with a keen understanding to work with. He suggested topics, helped with research and pointed out important facts that I sometimes missed when I sent him a draft to look at. Betsy proofed every article after we both did. Grammatical or spelling errors in the finished product were non-existent. For those reasons, I would look forward to doing this. However, the ERA Board and the APRA’s Board would both need to approve. Wes will propose this to them. I would suggest that it be added to the agenda of the next meeting. I’ll answer any questions and then leave the meeting for the discussion and vote, so that all can speak freely. About a month after Dick Vensel passed away, Barbara called Wes and gave him Dick’s library, which filled his car and trailer. These books now belong to Wes, not the APRA or EAR. Wes has turned a collection of brush publications (7 volumes) into PDF files and given me a copy of each. These are in-house technical papers from OE brush manufacturers concerning their research and the OE’s research. Mr V had some really good connections. There are hundreds of pages of information there, many, many hours of reading. I’ve only skimmed through one of them and already learned a lot. If the board approves, Brushes would probably be the first thing we would do together. Bob 1/18/2017
