Where Are They? By Richard R. Vensel + Where are your customers? They’re everywhere and most of them are in your niche market. Your customers re- ally don’t know all that you can do to help their business and profit. You have figured out your niche market and things are going pretty good, but you know yow’re missing something. Well, you already have the tools to find the answer, but you just don’t know it. The people you sell to are your best customers! Right? Then ask these customers what else you can do to help them in their everyday business. You will be surprised at their requests. Ser- vicing these requests can lead to more profit without having to keep aggres- sively going after more and more new customers. Here are some examples: – Power Tool Repair – Clearance Lights – Small Engine Repair – Welding – Parts Cleaning – Scrap—Buying and Selling – Magneto Repair – Chain Saw Repair We aren’t say- ing you have to do all these things, but if your customers like you and are happy with your service, you have the inside track to get more of their busi- ness. We have seen small shops that do $1,000 per month in magneto repair and they do not rebuild magnetos. They have them rebuilt by a small en- gine specialty shop. They make their profit and keep their customers happy. i This is only one small example, keep your eyes and ears open to new ways to enhance your business.
