Auto Salon SEMA’s Auto Salon 2005 will be held Friday-Sunday, May 20-22, in the Atlantic City Convention Center. Friday will be reserved for VIP media and trade, with an industry reception in the evening. Trade will continue to enjoy exclusive access to the show floor on Saturday morning, with consumers attending in the afternoon and all day Sunday. SEMA introduced the International Auto Salon in Los Angeles in 1998, when the sport-compact scene was just beginning. The show was launched to educate members about the growing market and to bring new buyers and opportunities to manufacturers. The market has since matured and evolved significantly. Whereas the early shows attracted new buyers, many of the buyers who attended IAS Los Angeles in 2004 also attended the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. In an effort to alleviate the burden of exhibiting or attending two shows that have grown to include similar audiences, the International Auto Salon in Los Angeles will be put on hiatus. Meanwhile, the sport-compact market on the east coast is booming. The Auto Salon held last year in Atlantic City was successful at bringing new buyers and opportunities to exhibitors. SEMA will continue to monitor the market to identify new opportunities for the industry. As the industry changes and grows, new programs and services will be introduced to help members increase business and succeed in the marketplace. Non-exhibiting Suppliers: NO laptops or briefcases allowed on show floor. A rebuilder who is also a supplier will pay the vendor fee. VIOLATORS WILL BE ESCORTED OUT. Atlantic City Jitney Assoc.
