E+ Show Planning Meeting Slated for Chicago By Traci Matt Polly Ferree, promoter of the an- nual all-electrical E+ Show, has an- nounced the planning meeting for the 2001 show will be held Saturday, Au- gust 5 in the Chicago area. “The show planning meetings have made such an enormous difference in our catering to rebuilders and suppli- ers, we’d be foolish not to continue them,” said Ferree. The first pre-show planning ses- sion, held in Fort Worth, TX in Janu- ary 1999, laid the groundwork for the highly successful hands-on training sta- tions. The 2000 meeting in Chicago led to an extremely well attended joint show with the Auto Electric Rebuilder’s Association of Canada. Richard Vensel of Vensel Enter- prises will moderate as he has the pre- vious two meetings. Along with Ferree, others planning to attend include: Bar- bara Vensel, Vensel Enterprises; Tom Reusser and Sabrina Owens, R&R Regulators, Inc.; Rob Buksar, Hoo- sier Electric Company; Ron Carlson, ASR Auto Resoutce, Inc.; Joe Davis, Wetherill Associates, Inc.; Alan Melton, Northwest Regulator Supply, Inc.; Juan Grube, JIMCO, Inc.; Mitch Levey, East Coast Automotive; Jim Fungaroli, CMS Enterprises; Chuck Showalter, Network Parts Company; and Dave Claybaugh, C-W Group, Inc. Ferree said the location for the 2001 E+ Show will be announced in July. “Strong possibilities” include At- lantic City or Indianapolis, which both have 2,500 shops in a 250-mile ra- dius. Ferree is also considering the option of hosting the show with the Canadian association on alternate years in various cities along the U.S./Canadian border. Ferree is looking forward to maintaining the momentum the 2000 Canadian show generated. “T think we’ve turned a corner. Those who are still in the industry re- alize they have to get involved and keep up with what’s happening around them.
