Section Il-Component Identification and Replacement This section is broken into two major subsections: alternators and _ starters. Each of the subsections contains infor- mation on how to identify the manufac- turer of the component to be tested and guidelines for removal and installation. Each subsection also contains an application chart which identifies most domestic and import vehicles. Use these charts along with the specific manufac- turer identification information given to determine the manufacturer of the com- ponent to be tested. After identifying the manufacturer, refer to Section 1 for test- ing procedures.
