_ chiwia | & | | { & | anes / TECH TIPS Alternator Pulley Installation Guide 1. When installing a pulley and fan on an alternator carefully inspect the pulley for excessive wear. When in doubt, replace the pulley. It is not recommended to reuse the old clutch/de-coupling pulleys! 2. Use the proper tools to install and torque the pulley and fan. Some of the types of tools available are shown below. enr & 3. The fan and pulley must be torqued to the manufacturer’s specifications. 4. Measure the pulley position from the alternator being replaced and make note of it before removing the pulley and spacers. Use the appropriate reference point when taking measurements as shown in the picture below.
