“dixie verse gy TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: TBA Applications: 2008 — 2011 Cadillac CTS-V with 6.2L Supercharged Engine 2008 — 2011 Chevrolet ZR1 Corvette with 6.2L Supercharged Engine Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain that when starting the engine from cold the belt chirps. The noise may last as long as 2 minutes after start up when very cold and less when warmer. The technician may find that TSB-1005 is not applicable and that the belt alignment is correct. The technician will also be able to isolate the noise as coming from the top rear of the engine. The sound could be misdiagnosed as exhaust, belt or supercharger noise. Cause: A potential cause for this normal engine operation, when the engine is cold the spark is retarded in order to warm up the catalytic converters to meet emissions requirements.
