LEXIE } TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-1672 MS-1042 S-1479 S-1481 S-1489 101-07100 201-14102 201-16120 206-05104 243-96106 Applications: 2000 — 2001 Boats with a Mercury Marine M2 Jet Drive 2.5L (all models) 2001 — 2003 Boats with a Crusader 8.1 MPI or 8.1MPI HO engine 2001 — 2003 Boats with a Sea Maxx 8.1 MPI or 8.1MPI HO engine Conditions: The operator of the vehicle may complain of erratic engine performance such as: – The engine shutting off for no apparent reason and restarting. – The engine hesitating under load – The engine failing to start – A possible engine fire. Cause: A potential cause for the above conditions is that the factory installed wiring harness was improperly fitted and a loose connection may exist between the wiring harness and fuel pump. In addition the fuel pump fuse installed was oversized (a 20A fuse was installed instead of 3A fuse). Correction: Follow the manufacturers recommended diagnostic and repair process to ensure that the proper fuses are installed and that there is a proper fit between the fuse and the holder.
