They may also indicate that there is a click noise and that when the key is cycled to the “off’ and “start” position again that the vehicle does start then. The technician may note that there are no diagnostic codes stored in the memory. Cause: A possible cause is that there could be electrical noise in the system “tricking” the powertrain control module to “think” that the engine is running. Correction: The vehicle manufacture has released an update to the calibration file for the powertrain control module to eliminate this issue. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended procedures for checking and calibrating the powertrain control module.
