The technician may observe that there are no diagnostic trouble codes stored in the system. Cause: The manufacturer has identified several potential causes for the above condition: – Adamaged or improperly adjusted transmission shift cable. – Animproperly adjusted park/neutral switch. – A broken park/neutral switch. – A loose or broken battery ground cable at the ground stud (mostly on the 3.5L transmission ground studs). – Aloose or damaged cable at the battery post of the starter. Correction: Inspect each of the items listed above following the manufacturer’s recommended procedures to inspect, adjust or replace components, if required.
